Does our judicial system still work ?
I wonder at times especially when I see a convicted murderers get their death
sentence commuted to life, or when we see a rapist get his prison time cut in
half for "good behavior". Better yet, when I see two bit criminals like Mary
Prantil play the court system for damn near three years.
We let pedophiles and killers out on
early release to walk the street and some times even allow them write books in
how to carried out their unlawful acts such as in the O.J. Simpson
case.
Our system of law seems to be burdened
down with so many rules and regulations that it actually impedes the the due
process of law, in my opinion.
Most persons being processed through
the courts on various charges, or through the criminal justice system, have
several opportunities to plea out for reduced sentences, or no actual sentence
aside from community service or paying a few fines.
I believe that justice must be
tempered with mercy and further, that the crime must fit the punishment yet, in
today’s courts the justice we speak of seems to be watered down to a dangerous
level when it comes to certain crimes.
It's watered down as a result of
excessive lobbing under the civil rights codes outlining societal civil
liberties. Again, I will just say that one can adhere to the law so rigidly that
they themselves can actually violate the law in which they so earnestly try to
enforce.
It's time for us as a Nation to
recognize that some individuals simply can't be rehabilitated no matter the
educational resources you offer them in a prison setting or rehab center upon
release.
It doesn't matter how many church
meetings you force them to sit in on or how sorry they come off to the victim or
victim's family in a parole hearing.
The time has come when we as a Nation
must recognize that some folks only wish to feed off of society while refusing
to yield to any of the laws that make up that civilized society. These folks not
go against the tide of a peaceful society but further add parole to those of us
that attempt to live by the laws passed by our government.
Example: Do you really think our
newest assassin feels compassion for his victims? Or that he even thinks about
the long term damage he carried out against the innocent fallen? I for one
believe he is very sorry he didn't kill more folks from the sickening smile on
his face. Perhaps this is his look of sadness and remorse for the
cameras.
Do you think he will find Jesus once
he's locked away in a very clean federal prison? Maybe so, but he should know
that there are some crimes against humanity that are unforgivable by both God
and man.
Will the parole board feel compassion
for him thirty years down the road after his lawyers have filed one partition
for continuance right after another. Perhaps the Governor will commute his stay
on death row to life in prison once the names of the victims have been forgotten
by all except the grief stricken family members.
Doesn't these
possibilities concern or scare you? That something like this could even occur in
the United States in 2011. Well, It happens everyday. Doesn't it bother you that
a psychopath, or lunatic like Jared Loughner murders
all these innocent folks and seriously wounds several others, then smiles at us
all from behind prison bars.
It
bothers me greatly and I hope that justice against him works in this instance,
and I don't mean twenty or thirty years from now.
Do we
think that this broken personality can be fixed? I don't think so, what do you
think?. We also have several problems plaguing us in America to date that we as
a Nation must contend with, as you all ready know.
We have
high unemployment, health care issues, overseas terrorists and apparently
confused factions of government here and abroad just to name a few things. Do
we really need home grown terrorists like Jared Loughner? Or the long line of
home grown terrorist that preceded him? No would be my answer to
this.
Ok,
let's take another look at Miss Prantil's records below after a few initial
statements made on my part. Mary Prantil has a long history of being suicidal
and suicide attempts along with a lengthy criminal record going back three years
at least in New York.
Prantil has several restraining orders against her in the state of
New York, issued by the state of NYC. She's been sent to Rikers Island for two
court ordered Psychiatric Exams, as the record shows. And was
subsequently picked up on a warrant for violating her Parole that was eventually
Revoked. Please view records below:

Now that you've viewed these records
above, or possible the entire report provided by the New York Unified Court
System perhaps you can see some similarities between Mary Prantil and Jared
Loughner.
Another point I would like to
elaborate on is in that apparently Miss Prantil was on Parole
to which indicates that she was convicted and spent time in prison. Please don't
confuse Parole with probation as these are two different legal
actions.
Please be sure to read the following
link regarding the differences between parole and probation at:http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-the-difference-between-parole-and-probation.htm and http://criminal-law.freeadvice.com/parole_probation/probation_parole_pardon.htm. Miss Prantil's parole was Again, Revoked and she was
sent back to prison.

Mary Prantil is likened to Jared
Loughner http://www.aolnews.com/2011/01/10/jared-loughner-mugshot-released-photo/ in the
ways that they are both are antisocial, both have mental health issues or
histories, both violent, both lack the ability to communicate, both have
criminal records, and both are stalkers.
And lastly, Both of these persons have
distorted rantings posted on their personal web sites that are moreover
accusatory and lashing out in dark ways at innocent others.
Miss Prantil is a bomb waiting to
explode. It's not a matter of if, more so then when? Will society let this one
slip through the cracks as well? Will everyone point their fingers at one
another when this bomb explodes? Who's fault will it be when it finally
happens?
Will we make excuses and blame it on
the lack of health care or possibly a over filled prison system? Tell me, will
she be quickly processed or pushed through the court system as a result of their
full docket, and who will be responsible when this individual decided to take
her vengeance out on a completely innocent person or group of people?
Will we say that it just happens and
that no one saw it coming or worse yet, will we just write it off to some
isolated freak snapping for no apparent reason? Well, general public, law
enforcement, legal and law enforcement communities and media, I will say this,
in advance:
You can't say that you weren't warned
in this instance as we have piles and piles of proof and official records
indicating that Mary Theresa Prantil is a very unstable and mentally ill person
whom needs immediate long term psychological assistance.
This person has around twenty victims
to which four or five of them are facing off with her in court. Prantil has
wasted tax payer dollars for three to four years now via filing motions for
continuance when it comes time for her hearings regarding the 8 criminal charges
she faces.
Yes I said eight criminal charges
against her currently ranging from stalking to aggravated harassment, resisting
arrest, criminal contempt and more etc.
Does this sound like a law abiding
citizen who has a passive personality? Or a person that should be running free
amongst us on the streets? Or does this sound like a Jared Loughner waiting to
happen?
Perhaps the media should check int the
New York criminal case of Mary Prantil to see why it's taking them three years
to prosecute this individual and further, why they keep letting this person back
out on the street.
It is exactly persons like Miss
Prantil that should be red flagged in society. This isn't someone acting a
little weird every once and a while.
This isn't someone having a bad hair
day, or doesn't feel good because their coming down with the flu, more so then a
very troubled person whom has consistently carried out malicious or harmful acts
against others going back twenty years.
Where do we begin and when do we as a
Nation stop making excuses in not confronting the problems of mental health and
other issues? I wonder. We opened up our Institutions back in 1980 to 1985
because of lacking of funds concerning the private sector and the mentally ill
poured out onto our streets.
Most of the folks became homeless and
abandoned and yet others filled up our prison system. Some live a reasonably
clean and safe existences and others God only knows where their at.
The folks like Mary Prantil that
severally need help are slow in receiving this assistance and moreover left to
their own devices a good deal of the time and so, you get what we have here
today in mentally ill crazy people all over the place.
Yes, left to their own devices to
squaller in a world of conflictual fantasy in troubling times no less. As I've
stated in other articles, most emotionally troubled people aren’t violent, or
tend to hurt themselves over anyone else yet, there exist the percentage to
whatever it is that remains the threat to the over all common wealth.
Please don't think that if we bury our
heads in the sand that this problem will go away, because it won't. In fact, we
as Americans have many issues to deal with both nationally and
internationally.
I don't believe that we as a nation
need to throw all this off on the government more so then take personal
responsibility in cleaning up our share of the mess that we made for
ourselves.
Instead of becoming divided as a
Nation it would be more prudent to unite and work together to solve the problems
in which we face. We press on through sacrifice and courage in the face of
opposition and adversity while doing the job for the sake of our children. Do we
really want to leave a world like this to our young?
Speaking of our young people. You
know, we have direct TV, and as I was flipping through the channels looking for
a nice movie to watch guess what I saw on TV? Can't guess huh? Ok, I'll tell you
since you forced me.
It was a wonderful movie called
“Rampage” that involved a 20 year old Caucasian male running around in what
looked like ATF black body armor with a variety of weapons on him. I guess it
was suppose to be a paint ball uniform.
This kid ran around the throughout the
entire movie robbing banks and cutting the throats of bank tellers, catching
blowing up vehicles into fiery balls and shooting or stabbing everyone in cold
blood in including policeman.
Of course, not leaving out shocking
his best friend with a stun gun and then placing a 9mm to his friend's head and
pulling the trigger. I'm speculating that this boy was wanting to frame his
friend for the bank robbery he had previously commuted etc.
Do you think Mr. Loughner would
appreciate this movie? Would you like to know what my review was for this
movie? All I can say is (Disturbing). Is this what our kids are watching these
days? Hollywood needs to find another way to make whatever statement their
trying to the world if you ask me.
This is the type of media that feeds
the despair that our children fell on a daily basis. This is where they get the
idea. I mean, the guy in this movie did get away with all the looting and
carnage after all.
This particular movie is just one of
many that I've seen this week having to do with killing, robbery, murder and
worse, if that is at all possible. Of course a lot of these shows have New York
or other large city themas to them. I think we have a big problem,
Houston.
