The Internet, F.C.C. And Job Creation
We
use the Internet everyday and think nothing of it as we haven't really
considered it to be the vast financial resource that it really
is. What I'm about to purpose is a rough plan in utilizing the
Internet as a source of income that would in turn, leave governing
agencies less dependent on the general public for mandatory taxes, or in
raising taxes in order to keep itself running on every level from
federal, state, county to city municipalities.
As
I've stated previously in the paragraphs above when referring to the
F.C.C. , not only would I clean up the F.C.C. , but empower it to
oversee every aspect of our communication mediums by issuing licenses at
its desecration to any Users, or private companies wishing to use the
Internet for business purposes here in the United States.
Revenue
could be obtained by the governing powers via charging for special
licenses to the search engines, foreign engines, on line companies and
average users. It could also require special courses to obtain the
required licenses that a operator would need to conduct searches
through, or in operating business on the Internet.
I
believe that cities, all the way up to the federal level, could benefit
immensely from a refined plan concerning the usage of the Internet as a
revenue resource and thus, the need for tax revenue would be lessened
in one way, or in a mandatory tax and regained again through the tax’s
collected off of the courses and licensing itself.
In
essence, the people that don't use the Internet would see their over
all taxes decreased and the people who chose to use the Internet would
see a small tax on the classes and licenses they would have to squired
before the could be an operator on the Internet.
Hypothetically
speaking, if we charged one dollar a piece for everyone living in the
United States for technical classes and Internet license, it would come
to 300 million dollars lol, and this wouldn't include all the other
stuff that would come with it should a person need to upgrade a license
etc.
The
fact of the matter is in that this, if constructed correctly could
bring in billions of dollars, if not, trillions of dollars over time
that would reduce the over all local, state and national deficits. Most
people pay about $20 to $60 a month to be on the Internet currently and
most businesses gravitate to the Internet as they can reach a mass
targeted advance and pay little to no overhead and so, maximizing
profit.
Hypothetically
speaking, if it took $100 a year, per person, 300 million strong, to
get on the air through classes, licensing and tax, then this would be in
the neighborhood of an extra $30,000,000,000 Billion that the governing
bodies could take in for operational cost of running the government on
the whole.
Of
course, let's not forget the small to medium business, national
cooperation’s and foreign engines and or, foreign companies that need
U.S. licenses that will generate even more capital for state and
government agencies.
Just
playing with the numbers, lol..... I'm not that great with math but I
can tell you that it sounds like a lot of money to me, that just might
help in pulling our butts out of the fire of economic disaster and
national deficit.
Of
course, the governing powers could make additional financial resource
off of fines as well lol, as stated above in another previous article,
this would also be a means in cleaning up the Internet via regulating it
to a lessor or greater degree.
For
example, such as making it easier in spotting terrorist activity or
applying pressure to hate sites via levied fines for hateful or
malicious speech over a governed air way. Again, this doesn't impede
free speech however, it does make one accountable for what they say or
encourage, write, etc., on the Internet.
Regarding
the anonymity so highly sought after by it's users, I would submit that
every User would have an I.D. number registered with the F.C.C. that
all sites would be legally obligated in turning over to any federal
agency upon request, especially when that site, or government agency
suspected unlawful activity to any degree coming from a individual or
company.
If
you stop and think about it for a moment, anonymity on the Internet is a
cover for criminal activities as much as it has anything to do with
blowing the whistle on a given company and thus, anonymity doesn't need
to be a part of the Internet as it harms and hinders more then it serves
the public.
If
someone has a legitimate complaint against a person or company, then
why would they want to hide? I've made many charges against some on the
Net, and never felt the need to hide anywhere over the last fourteen
years.
The
second part of the plan consists of job creation in that lots of people
will be needed in the many different areas having to do with schooling,
testing, issuing and revoking licenses, collecting tax, filing new
fictitious company names and so fourth.
Also,
new companies will tend to spring up in a regulated environment more so
than something that resembles the wild, wild west such as the Internet
is currently looked upon. More and more companies large and small
alike are taking up residence on the Internet to reach a global client
bass and so, I don't see it slowing down.
For the most part,
this would either revitalize existing government agencies or create new
ones, plus bring a huge amount of monies in to be used for payroll,
health plans and other needs regarding these city, county’s, states and
federal employees.
As
was stated before, this would also have untold benefits to the public
as well in that their sales taxes would be reduced on the state and
federal level and picked up by those who choose to use the Internet in
the capacity of a consumer or for cooperate use.
The
sky is the limit in what the Internet could bring in financially for
the Cities, Counties, States and federal government, and I personally
don't know what their waiting on. It just makes good sense to explore
the options while taking advantage of the opportunities in this area of
the private sector.
We
pay high sales tax on everything, our groceries are high, gas is way
too expensive, clothing is costly, tobacco and alcohol has been taxed to
death, and the cost of living is crazy over all, simply because the
governing powers need revenue to keep things running.
Now,
I'm not sure how effective a plan like this would be in its refined
state after the professionals were through with it however, the rough
outline is there to consider. Also, I don't know how much this plan
would produce and or, if the funds from such a project would be used for
its correct purposes, or misappropriated by whomever gets all the
tax dollars that seems to disappear without a trace, but I still think
it's worth pursuing just the same.......
