The Riots In Lebanon & Moammar Gadhafi
In regards to the riots currently going on in Lebanon and Moammar Gadhafi's military movements against his own populace, I believe that all future actions that might be implemented against this region should solely be taken on by the United Nations. Period.
And that no one nation should commit to or shoulder this current responsibility of handling what has been termed a social unrest, rebellion, or uprising in Lebanon, especially in light that both the Lebanese government and people have requested that the United States stay out of their national and regional affairs in the beginning.
Should the U.S or U.N. arm the local inhabitance of Lebanon? This wouldn't be a prudent venture in my opinion. Why? For many reasons really such as we've tried this sort of engagement before in just about every part of the world in the past and thus, it turned out to be time consuming, costly and over all ineffective in just about every instance.
I could cite several instances in where the U.S., U.S.S.R., Great Britain, and more have tried this same approach; not only in the Middle East, but in other parts of the world over the last fifty years.
In short, this type of conflict doesn't belong solely to the U.S. no more then it would belong to China, Russia, or any other nation however it is an exercise in global diplomacy.
It's an exercise in both diplomatic pursuit and global restrictions being applied toward the repeating offender nation via the international community or The United Nations. This is the only way the global standard or law can be set, especially when were all attempting to change a nation's way of thinking concerning the human rights issue.
For the United States to solely engage in either this mentioned conflict above, or any other foreign social un-rest problem at this time would only draw national criticism back to us, not to mention possibly inflaming other pre existing issues that we may have both domestically and abroad.
For the U.S. to arm the people of Lebanon would only result in untold deaths, as the result of their lack of understanding and training, friendly fire, having their own artillery, weaponry or other ordinances stolen from them and used against not only themselves but our personal ordinances as well.
This would only complicate, or further generate even more problems concerning our existing foreign policy and our relationships with other nations via any U.S involvement, or indirect intervention etc.
In short, it's just not a good idea to replace torches and pitchforks with stinger missiles and other forms of small arms to the rebels. The most recent example of how something like this will typically turn out would be in observing Pakistan as the most recent model.
We have to understand that the Human Rights issue belongs to the world and moreover, the governments of the world have to do their part in protecting these rights. It is those same governments that must enforce the inalienable, or intrinsic human rights concerning any given nation or population through boundaries set fourth by a coalition of nations.
The No Fly Zone
Should the United Nations decide to take direct action against the oppressive regime of Moammar Gadhafi as a result of last ditch effort in resolving the violation of human rights abuses or human carnage against the populace? Then this is what I would personally suggest after all other forms of diplomacy, sanctions and trade embargo’s have been exhausted.
Again, to arm the people would be a mistake as this would result untold deaths against a civilian population as a result of the lack of training in fighting skills and the use of military equipment. This is why assistance must come directly form the United Nations.
In other words, we must keep these matters or volatile situations in professional hands instead placing deadly force in the hands of the unqualified layman.
The U.N. has a couple of options here when all other peaceful means of resolutions have failed the first of which is utilization of satellite or G.P.S. tracking of hostile troop movement, and surgical air strikes against hostile targets.
Drone strikes against hostile targets, or removal squads of key figures spearheading the ongoing scrafing or air attacks over groups of civilian targets etc. Of course, if the offender leader was apprehended by U.N. forces by whatever means, then this leader could be tried before a U.N Council or tribunal for war crimes.
Now, I know that the war crime charge wouldn't necessarily apply to a situation such as what we see in Tripoli however, this revolt is in fact being called a revolution or civil war and thus, past what we all deem as simple civil unrest.
In light of this, and the way that this conflict has been conveyed to the world, this is perceived as a war time situation in which the rules of the Geneva Convention have gone un-observed by the nation in question via its inhuman treatment and murder of its own population, I would think that this would make this particular leader eligible for war crime prosecution.
The Perfect World
It's high time that the governments of the world as well as all people from every walk of life take responsibility for their actions; and or be held accountable for their actions on every level and in every way. To break man's law isn't prudent yet to breaks God's laws by no matter the name by which you call Divinity, is purely stupidity.
It's time that we all do the right thing here via recognizing the fact that we all live on the same planet, which is of course our earth. We are cut from the same cloth. And what we do to one and the other affects all of us directly on a daily basis.
Wars, Global Warming, And The Welfare Of Our Planet Earth
As an example, this planet is a type of "body". The earth maintains it's balance and rotates on it's axis in a certain way, day and night, around the clock. One could even call the earth one of the Heavenly bodies in the Universe; as each planet has it's own particular function to balance the Universe as a whole. The world population all inhabits this planet of earth. And being that it is so, in retrospect referring to our planet as a whole, or as a "body", how then, can the hand do something without it affecting the arm?
In other words, if we keep this nonsense up, meaning more wars coming into existence in many different parts of the world, we as a planet or body are thrown greatly off balance and in addition suffer greatly as a result. Then in no time, everything will turn to shit and thus, who will we blame for our repeated mistakes when "D Day" comes? Will it even matter at that point? I don't think so.
The Domino Effect In Conjunction With Global Warming
The domino effect, as you notice by simply watching the news is plain to see as in the case of the recent crisis in Egypt, which affected many other countries all over the world; it was as if the world caught some sort of sickness or virus that caused other parts of the world to suffer the same things such as bombings, killings, people starving, getting injured, and so forth; and of course we know that some countries had a much more severe and adverse affect as a result of these types of things than other countries did.
Concerning the subject of "global warming" which is a result of ongoing usage of military weaponry and other invasive assaults we continue to inflict on our planet, are indeed taking their toll. There is little difference between monstrous epidemics and bio weaponry. Think about how hot in temperature the environment becomes during a war. And a large war or wars? Global warming is at it's height and maximum extreme harsh effects incur.
In retrospect of this, for instance a scientist may discover a germ from outer space somewhere out there in our solar system but in the same token a deadly bio weapon could very well cause the extinction of the entire human race if we allow military conflicts to continue out of control with the medium of a highly emotional medium that could change course for the better or the worse.
More and more military conflicts equal global warming increasing. Global warming increasing equals the human race being forced, whether we like it or not, to say goodbye to our way of life as we now know it.
Even Egypt in it's crisis was not expected to get their situation resolved as quickly as they did, in fact it was an outright miracle, but it could have gone in the opposite direction as well. As most scientists are aware, what is called "the big chill" again, could be brought on by global warming.
This means that we would, by global warming, or continuing to heat up earth by excessive usage of military weaponry and or high tech military weaponry, before too very long of this continuing, the entire world would be covered in ice and we could very well be living in igloos and wearing fur coats.
We as the world have known for years now about global warming, the damaging effects of it, how it causes plant life and animal extinction, as well as global human extinction. Have you ever thought how the world populace that is left in the aftermath of a catastrophic event such as this would even find enough food in order to survive in such a climate?
Keep in mind that all the animals and plant life would be frozen as well. Scientists tell us and warn us that this would cause the outright instinction of the entire human race as we know it and take so for granted in the day and age in which we live today.
The world seems to be in a faltering state of affairs with all its turmoil, strife and death, not to mention increased global warming, so what shall we do about it? Will we move forward into the age of of enlightenment through intelligence and ethical decision making, or will we return back to the dark ages or even the big chill or ice age once more in where only the strongest survive?
It's time that we put aside our differences, greed, intolerance and hate while bringing ourselves into a new age, an age of lasting peace, an age of fairness and doing the right thing by one another, an age to bring the madness of war and deadly dispute to it's end. Simply put, it is time to be thankful for what we do have and not what we do not have. The glass is half full, not half empty. It could be so much worse. Give that some thought.
It's time that we muster the courage up in steeping forward into the new age of equality, unity, social responsibility, moral behavior and faith in Heaven least we become a lost nation, a lost global community, a lost race in time. I do not know about you, but I am not looking forward to possibly chasing a giant mutant mastedon across the polar ice caps hoping I will get lucky with only a spear in my hand because the entire globe has frozen over. Hello?
This is the time, when we just "agree to disagree" while peaceably working together towards our common goals, the age of common sense, honor, decency and RESPECT. It is not too late for we, the human race. There is still time for the world to come to it's senses and realize how thankful we should be, and start helping one another instead of hurting one another.
This is the time to understand that no matter the religion, skin color or gender that a person may have, a society should reward the individual according to his intelligence, skill, work ethic, merit and over all accomplishments. Furthermore, negative politics, racism or prejudice will no longer have a place in a civilized society. The earth body should not take a knife or gun and stab itself in the foot, right? What would that possibly accomplish except working more toward the big chill in essence?
The issues currently taking place in Lebanon further perpetrated by Moammar Gadhafi and his administration is purely evil in every way in my opinion. We and other nations have enabled this tyrant to date in one way or another. We also have the power to stop this senseless evil once and for all.
This is the very thing that keeps the world from moving forward in a peaceful manner, and actually prospering, and it is folks such as this that must be taken out of the game simply because they're refusing to play by the rules.
This is likened to letting a crazy man into a china shop and so, it only stands to reason that things will be broken. In this case human bodies are broken. And destroyed. Even the fact that people getting shot and killed in the street while marching peacefully unarmed is greatly disturbing. Perhaps we all need to be shocked into the reality of what we have allowed ourselves to become. The body, the earth body. Destroying itself out of control.
We as a global community must take on the task of enforcing civility in the world and moreover, go on to convey the clear discernment between a civilized society and what is purely barbarism within a growing civilization to all nations, for as the world continues with wars, fighting, smart weapons, bombs producing more global warming, which in a short time will result in inevitable global incineration followed by a forever lasting ice age, or big chill.
Did I mention that all the beautiful species of plants and animals, birds, will be extinct? Even the museums will be frozen and probably buried in solid ice so forget about viewing them there. Won't happen. We all will be too busy chasing down that giant mutant mastedon across the polar ice caps trying to get something to eat just to merely survive.
Civilization: The Dream
Like anything else, civilization is simply a ideology, a thought and wish to better the human condition by established laws or rules and yet, even the idea of civilization isn't carved in stone and can be altered via the perception and definition of the majority, or what a majority may perceive as normality and or, what is acceptable in the way of the treatment of others. A fine line to walk indeed that can shift with the consensus of the populace.
When one man harms another needlessly, or to retain power in a land where he's no longer wanted or welcomed solely for purposes of greed, power striving and war mongering, then this has absolutely nothing to do with serving the public under a democracy or self-proclaimed democracy, wouldn't you agree?
And so, if any Nation shall take offense to the harmful treatment of another human being under another nation's rule, then that nation by it's very nature is a compassionate and civilized nation yet, if another nation views the atrocities of an offending nation upon it's people and chooses inaction despite what they have seen, or agree with what they've seen, then they are considered barbaric in themselves.
If any nations come together under the banners of compassionate and civilized behavior whom are further subject to Divinity's laws, then these nations shall abide as defenders of a oppressed people against the tyrannical kingdom. Are you listening, United Nations? I sincerely do hope so.
Yes, we the civilized world must take care to recognize the rights of another nation and its people therein yet, we do have a responsibility to the family of man in the end that transverses all gender, race, creed, religion, faith, political stand and or national borders.
Unity, getting on the same page and simply doing the right thing is what's called for here while effectively being ambassadors of peace when possible, but also in being the lion of wrath to the war lords in the interest of peace and preserving the human rights of even the most humble of men and women.
In closing, hopefully this helped shed some light in a much needed perspective concerning these important world issues.
