Democracy In A Kingdom: Foreign
Occupation
Firstly, what does it mean to live in a democracy? Ok,
let me take a stab at this with my definition. It is to live under a government
that protects one's efforts in pursuing individual goals and happiness through
the rights to vote, voicing your opinion, or take an active part in the
governmental process by running for office, etc. Of course, there's a lot more
to it but that's the jest for the most part.
We live in a free country who's primary goals aside from
maintaining our rights listed under the constitution are in the maintaining of
those civil rights or human rights but, you know this all ready so I'm not going
to waste a lot of time rehashing what you already are aware of, as far as I
know.
This is great country and we've come a long way, baby.
Democracy is a wonderful thing that a good many of us want to share with others,
especially those in far off lands who seem to be having a hard time in the way
their being treated, or the conditions their being made to live in
etc.
However the reality is, not everyone is ready for, or
wants to live under a democracy, no more then everyone wants to practice or
belong to the same religion. Some will suffer under a current established
government or dictatorship yet, they view it as their right and moreover state
that it's no one else's businesses. In short, our country? Our business? But
help us and then leave?
Let's use Haiti for a running model of this theory for a
moment. The people were made to endure horrible oppression through a tyrannical
and evil regime, the small nation eventually drives the dictators into exile for
twenty something years for causing thousands of persons to die violently for
little to no reason, and then puts someone else in charge.
The dictator returns for whatever reason after his
imposed exile and calms that he returned for the good of the people, huh? For
the good of the people in light of the numerous disasters that had taken place a
year previously. Of course, some in the country welcomed him back with open arms
while others didn't.
Why would people even permit this individual back into
their country for even a day? Why would they even let this person leave their
country rather then trying him for crimes against the country or humanity and
then imprisoning him for life, or worse?
This was a guy that drove Haiti into the ground for his
own personal gain while he and his father were committing genocide on a
daily basis. Damn ,what's not right about this picture? It's crazy but, please
know that this Babydock guy will not only return again, but he will eventually
stay and become an active part in the Haitian government once more. If this
doesn't happen I will be very surprised.
Why could this possibly occur, you ask ? For not only
the reasons stated above in some forgetting his atrocities but in that the
people of this small nation are accustomed to, or preconditioned to
dictatorships under whatever names their offered. Moreover, these folks often
times find security in it, especially if they've never experienced life under a
democracy before.
Should these good people be exposed to democracy at some
point briefly in time, they will exist under this system until a better system
comes along in the way of a socialist regimes, or dictatorial government
structure.
If you'll notice, when America sets up a political
system for a given country and then pulls out of that country, things go back to
normal and it's just business as usual for most small countries. Case in point; rigged elections, and heavy handed rule.
They start having problems with the voting system in
that many charge corruption or cheating in the area of ballots or forced votes
etc. Do the psychological study and math for yourself via using various models
from the middle east and other nations to further acquire similar
results.
In my opinion, you have democracies, kingdoms and
tyrannical regimes that some of which are consisting of one part democracy and
the rest dictatorship, as strange as that sounds.
I don't personally believe that you can take something
as young as a western style of democracy from a country roughly 234 years old
and fully or successfully implement such a system in given countries such as the
ones found and cited below.
Byblos 5000 BCE, Damascus 3000 BCE, Medinat Al-Fayoum in Egypt
4000 BCE, Turkey 3650 BCE, Hama in Syria 2000 BCE, Luxor/Thebes in Egypt 2000
BCE. Jaffa, Israel, and Aleppo, Syria 3800 years old? or china to which weighs
in at 4000 years old. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-oldest-cities-in-the-world.htm
Even though a rough form of democracy was practiced in
some of these regions in the beginning of their societal evolution, it's always
been a race between the King, Emperor and the Pharaoh with those whom were
raised out of adversity by the people in representing the common
man.
"Let my people go" he says? The king will have to
sleep on this for a night. Or perhaps the Caesar will listen to the senate if it suits him.
Caesar says, "Let me think about it. Ok, I've thought on it and the answer
is NO". And so, another election was held by the Senate in question and the
Caesar was voted out of office that night in a bad way, lol.
These areas are receptive to certain parts
of a democratic system however and on the other hand, they tend to hang on to
their old system of governing to a greater extent even if it means temporally
bypassing the democratic system until things are worked out.
So, what does all this mean when it comes
to America aside of sowing the seeds of democracy and utilizing diplomacy to
address such issues as human rights and various other issues in a foreign
land?
We, as a nation are a noble race whom
moreover, have the right idea in conveying our ideas for fairness, equality and
in being treated in a humane way.
We further pride ourselves in being the
protectors of human rights and the defenders of the weak in the face of tyranny
and oppressive government yet, is this really our place in the world? And are we
taking on more then we should be in the way of responsibility?
To make matters worse, we catch a lot of
flack for our positive efforts in being called nasty names such as "the great
Satan" or "international bullies" by the very folks we've been attempting to
assist in bringing peace and order to within a given land and so, this should be
a red flag to us in the way of reassessing what are objectives at the very
least.
In other words, we really need to assess
the entire, or over all situation and establish what is best for all concerned
and not just for ourselves as a nation at times.
Now, I really don't have all the facts and
thus, I couldn't possibly make a creatable evaluation concerning why we have
various American occupations throughout the world, but I do have a opinion on
certain aspects of certain things I see going on, lol.
I can't realistically assess what a
objective might be in occupying a given region or country, as these are all
matters of state and foreign affairs yet, I feel strongly in conveying this
message just to make sure all the bases are covered.
Again, aside from being the defender of
human rights, or in resolving trade issues and further guarding our own interest
over seas, we have to discern why where in a given country and how our presence
is viewed by others locally, especially in the global
communities.
Have we accomplished our objectives, and
is the certain country or region become a better place as a result of our
intervention. If nothing has changed, or even grown worse, then we need to
leave, it's a simple as that. If were not correcting the problem then that means
were a part of the problem.
Ask yourself, did we accomplish our goals
in a timely and proper fashion and are we over staying our welcome past the
accomplishments so earnestly earned? If so, then we need to
leave.
Ask yourself, when does our good
intentions start working against us instead of for those in whom we wish to help
and better yet, when do our good intentions start working against us as a
nation?
Again, we must ask ourselves the
questions, how long will we push the human rights issues pertaining to China,
especially when this topic apparently only serves to agitate, aggravate, or hold
us back from achieving other worthy goals such as fair trade and the balancing
out of global currency? In short, don't piss off the guy you want to do
business with by pointing out his short comings, lol.
I think we should also remember this
concerning China, It's a 4,000 year old kingdom whom has a established system of
law and government. Listen to me folks when I say that old habits die hard even
if the wish for transformation is there, if not then we get what we have with
China lol.
The last thing we really want to do is in
proclaiming China or any nation to be our enemy at this stage in the game, or
threaten them with sanctions simply because we don't agree with their political
system, or in the polices they might observe in the way of governing their
populace.
I personally see a lot of things going on
in the world that I don't think should be occurring yet, I might try to convince
them in that there's a better way through gentle persuasion as this is the key
to promoting peace over sanctions, embargoes, etc.
Sometimes we must realize that some things
just aren't going to change in our lifetimes and thus, we just do the best we
can with what we have to work with. There is such a thing a realistic goals
verses pipe dreams, or unrealistic ambitions.
When
will we stop chasing Bin Dummy? As we've had eleven or more years to capture
him, when is enough simply enough? And when will we actually start bringing our
troops home?
You know, there are other ways open to us
in capturing the terrorists more subtle way. There's more then one way to skin a
cat and war or mass occupation doesn't have to be the option in all
instances.
Sometimes, retreat in the proper
circumstances is considered a virtue in strength or option even unto the
mightiest of warriors and nations. Retreat, or withdrawing in strength is a
exercise in prudence at times verses occupation for the wrong reasons, or in the
name of peace that tends to be looked at after a while as just another name for
foreign oppression.
In the end, we must realize what is
actually worth fighting for and what isn't, wouldn't you agree? In the end, we
must establish what serves our country first and above all else, and then worry
about some prudent ways in settling a civil war within a foreign country through
diplomacy and peaceful resolution, without occupying that
country.
It's all about getting on the same page
with foreign nations and giving our undivided attention to everyone and not just
our Allies, to which we do for the most part from what I
understand.
We also must remember that the rest of the
world watches us and so, we must lead by example in the ways of diplomacy and
peaceful resolution and not by forced occupation in the names of peace and human
rights.
Sometimes a nation must work out their
problems for themselves much as we did during our civil war. Yes, it was bloody
and violent and procured great loss yet the issue was resolved. Will we not
afford other nations this same right and freedom to resolve their
differences?
Again, we must live up to the high
expectations that others have of us in leading by example and moreover, by
fixing our issues domestically before we start advising other nations in how to
go about fixing a similar problem that they may be having. It's ok to help a
friend when one sees clearly but how can the blind lead the
blind?
Would You Really
Want To Be The President ?
To hold a Presidential office in these
strange and volatile times must be a daunting, or overwhelming task to say the
least, and I would advise the nation to exercise tolerance and patients in
regards to our commander and chief, President Obama.
I would imagine that being the president
of the United States would be likened to someone buying a box of unknown items,
you might think you know what's inside and what you can either use of sell, but
you never really know for sure until you open that box of snakes,
lol.
In other words, don't be so critical of a
man whom is dealing with numerous issues that we know very little to nothing
about as I believe that he's doing his best. Perhaps a lot better than any of us
could do looking from the outside in.
In my opinion, President Obama is doing
the best he can likened to the rest whom came before him. We might not agree
with everything a president does but there again we're not privy to what he
knows or exactly what he has on his plate.
I also think that we should be
concentrating on the issues of foreign affairs and policy along with solving our
domestic problems here at home rather then worrying about skin color or birth
certificates, don't you agree?
Please, don't judge least you be judged by
the same measure that you may judge others. Think about this; we've had many of
these same problems in this country for years and years and further, some of
which date back to the early 1800's and thus, I hardly think it fair to
attribute all that has gone wrong to one man.
President Obama took the chance and shown
courage in taking the job on sight unseen and further, he's now dealing with it
in the best way he can, who among you will cast the first stone? Ok, like I said
before, I don't play favorites and I simply see what is there in front of me, no
more and no less.
I normally don't engage in offering my
opinion in political matters however we do have problems in America that effects
all of us including myself and that's why I'm speaking out currently. Like I
said, not trying to make enemies more then just trying to offer some possible
solutions to the problem.
In other words, I don't take sides and I'm
as neutral and neutral can be plus the fact that I choose to remain optimistic,
to do my part no matter how small it may be and more so, to be a part to the
resolution instead of becoming part of the problem.
What side will you choose to stand given
the options of solving or contributing to the problem? Please keep this in mind,
If our President goes down then our nation goes down, if our nation bites the
dust then you and I will have a mouth full of dirt to chew on while learning to
speak Chinese, lol.
This should give the whiners out there
something to think about because if they think it's bad now, then just think how
bad it's going to be in the event of living under another rule that's not so
civilly right minded; that could happen if we're not careful. It takes all of us
to make this thing work, wouldn't you agree?
Haiti And International
Humanitarian
Efforts
The first thing I'd like to say concerning
Hatit is in what a tragedy this has become on many different levels. This is a
small island nation that seems to have been forgotten by the rest of the world
whom has more so has been lied to and given false hope, is it any wonder that
they start entertaining the return of an arch criminal in being their
savior?
Quite frankly, this is something that
shouldn't even be happening if 2011 especially with all the resources we have
out there. Bureaucracy for all intent purposes shouldn't even be a factor, and
that the governments of the world simply must do the right thing
here.
Do the right thing in not only promising
to assist, but in actually delivering the goods, don't you think
so?
To mean what they say and say what they
mean, in short. There's absolutely no reason on this earth that places like
Nigeria or Haiti should be existing in the current states of absolute, or advert
poverty such as can be seen. When it comes to feeding your family and
highjack ships, what option would you choose, reader?
No one should have live in the mud or
watch their loved ones rot under piles of trash, no one should have to drink
filthy water of live in shanties, or under a tin roof in a destroyed gas station
parking lot.
If any nation calls themselves
humanitarians or proclaims themselves to be God loving, then this in itself
should be a motivator in resolving this problem.
We are all of the family of man and so, we
are responsible in being our brothers keeper, especially when it comes to
hunger, illness or homelessness. Would you not want others to afford you the
compassion of clothing, housing and feeding you should you lose your home and
livelihood? I think so.
For the most part and from what I've seen
over the air ways, the people of Hatit are likened to little children who only
seek a little relief in a world that has come crashing down around them much
like those who experienced the Katrina incident in New Orleans; that was never
fully resolved.
New Orleans was also a place where much
was offered and little was received or gained in the way of relief however, in
retrospect this area had received much more in comparison then Haiti has
received. We have many options in finding a resolution for places such as Haiti
when you stop and think about it.
Options such as moving the populous to
other temporary living quarters while the island is being cleaned up, placing
security patrols, or peace keeping forces on the island coming directly from the
United Nations and there by establishing some form of order.
However, we must have a date of occupation
and a solid date of withdrawal written in stone pertaining to this
event.
By removing the populace either to one
side of the island, or off the island entirely into sound and safe but temporary
quarters, this would address the spreading of disease and yield reasonable
living conditions for the people afflicted by the natural
disasters.
We could further be more effective in
passing out the proper food and liquids needed. In summary, life sustaining
supplies that could be easily and systematically distributed in a speedy and
sufficient manner.
The island could be cleaned of garbage,
and the remaining dead could effectively be removed in a reasonable and
respectful fashion into designated areas.
United Nations security forces could
secure the island along with surrounding coastal areas and thus inhibiting any
out side interferences from those that would benefit off the chaotic
environment.
Government medical units could be provided
along with units such as the army core of engineers to clean and reconstruct the
towns etc. It doesn't say much for us as a race when we allow such things to go
on for so long especially when we've addressed problems such as this effectively
for other nations in he past.
A nation's greatness and quality is known
by its capacity to render fairness and compassion to those who are deserving of
it and moreover, by keeping their word. Again, we have the means along with
other nations in the world to address problems such as this and so, I wonder why
such things are allowed to endure in this day and age?
I don't believe that this should be a
singular effort, or the sole responsibility of the United States but moreover a
global responsibility that all should take part in at any cost.
We also must be prudent in making sure the
assistance hits its mark by piercing through any government corruption existing
within the nation state, or expelling any rebel forces seeking to benefit
outwardly of the government structure.
I further understand that everyone has
seen better times globally speaking yet, this is no excuse in allowing such
things as we have occurring on Haiti to exist. Or to exist in many other
nations that I'm not mentioning here for they are great in
number.
Would we not afford the people of this
island the same considerations that we would yield unto a wounded animal, or
homeless person asking for a hand up?
Would we ignore unnecessary human agony,
pain or suffering for the sake of bureaucracy and a few taxes? Is it really so
important that this island nation pay the U.S. tax for much needed water coming
from the United States?
And lastly, would we proclaim to be a
spiritual nation yet, ignore the hungry and naked stranger that come in the
night knocking at our doors? I wonder, what will we say when standing
before Divinity one day, what our excuse will be?
What will happen should we find ourselves
standing in this same place, or in the mud with no shoes on our feet one day? It
could happen as things do have a way of coming full circle. Sometimes, things
are allowed to go on in the world just to see how we will handle it. A test if
you will before the eyes of God and man.
Have we all become so tied up in our
pursuits and fears of the day that we've become so complacent and callus to the
needs of others? I think that there's a lot of us who do care out there, who
have good intentions however, the road to hell is paved with good intentions
after it's all said and done.
In closing, maybe I'm just dreaming and
nothing I've said will sink in, and the world will continue to spin on and on
with business as usual, but I still dream can't I? Dream of a better tomorrow
and a kinder gentler world. Regarding the ones in contributing their resource,
time and efforts in Haiti doing what they can, thank you so
much.
Thank you to the reporters, doctors and
other relief workers for all your efforts and please know, You are the stuff
that Heroes are made from. In fact, I'll go as far as saying, your the stuff
Heaven's Angels are made of the way I see it.
War And Rumors Of Wars: No Such Thing
As "Holy" War
There
are as many reasons for war as there are ideologies that provoke war in my
opinion. Some wars are for resource in where all the forms of diplomacy have
broken down in obtaining a given resource from another
country.
Some
wars exist as a result of greed or power struggles between local or national
government against another and yet, other reasons for war are as a result of
volatile, or unstable governments who seek to benefit off the populace via
violating the rights of that populace etc.
There
are Civil wars or Coo's and lastly, some wars are instituted over ones view of
Heaven, or in assuming what Heaven allegedly expects of them and so fourth, for
example, "Jihad". Who believes that it is God's will that they should kill the
"infidels", or all "unbelievers?"
Whom more states that it is not a sin to
kill the unbeliever but a honor unto Allah, or God. When we look upon this
extremist religious views, we see that this type of ideology and the war or
conflict it produces is primary born out of intolerance, deception, ignorance,
hatred and violence.
Jihadest moreover use jihad as a spiritual
excuse for war when in fact the underlying reason exist in that they resent the
Jewish occupation of what they consider to be their lands and or, the American
occupation in suppressing their activities concerning the attacking of Jewish
settlements etc.
So, here's another war in the name of God
that has more to do with real estate and the natural resources therein under the
guise of fighting and dyeing in the name of God.
As I've said before, God and spiritual
belief is about emotional and spiritual growth in making the world a better
place and moreover, anything contrary to this rule can not be considered
spiritual in any way especially when it advocates self-suicide and the murder of
innocent others.
A holy war can take place on one, or both
sides where both factions maintain the ideology of believing that God would like
them to kill any and everyone whom deviates from the faith system in
question.
Case in point, such as can be seen in
certain sects existing within, but not limited to the spiritual system of
Islam. Other such extremist systems or views that can be found in both Judaism
and Christianity itself in some respects, citing the Crusades.
Please let me remind everyone that Jihad
is practiced by a very small part, group, or percentage of people that take a
extremist view of the religion and more so, ARE NOT a part of the over all body
of the Islamic community. This also applies to the main practices of
Christianity and Judaism.
In short, A good many folks practicing the
main stream traditions do not practice , condone or engage in any part of Jihad
extremist behavior, so please don't stereotype.
The War On Terrorism And It's Effects On Our Children
